Spurgeon had not complained about work; yet, he took on a second job in early spring of 2015. He wanted to get Lauree something special. He knew exactly what and where he wanted to get it from, too. He soon acquired a little trinket and hid it right up under Laurees nose. Spurgeon waited and planned a gathering of twenty-five to thirty people on May 30, 2015. He left Lauree clueless of his plans, but he kept her family abreast of his desires and their friends aware of his plans. Lauree was under the impression that she was going on a much needed girls night out... She got her hair and nails done not knowing what was ahead for her that beautiful late spring night. She got picked up by her lifetime friend, Alexis, to get ready for the big night out on the town. The two of them met up with two more girlfriends: Jelisha and Celicia to finish preparing for this much needed girls time out. Finally, Lauree and her girlfriends were all dressed up, and they headed off to Pappadeaux's excited for the great night ahead. Once arriving at Pappadeaux's, Lauree and her friends were greeted by a hostess who was in on the surprise as well. Lauree walked and talked with the girls as they were escorted to their table she thought; yet, it wasnt long before Lauree noticed a lot of familiar faces... She seemed surprised and wanted to know what everyone was doing there. She began to cry, asking, What are yall trying to tell me, over and over again. Lauree kept asking the same question through her tears and great dismay. Her tears began to fall even more as her best guy friend, Jeremy started to sing Ed Sherrans Thinking Out Loud. This song had become a favorite of both Spurgeon and Laurees. While Spurgeon is hiding from Lauree, he is able to direct Jeremy to stop singing and walks into the room, meeting up with Lauree nose to nose. He confesses to Lauree, I have loved you since 2009 and so much more. Lastly, Spurgeon asks Lauree to be with him for the rest of his life offering her the diamond ring he had hidden away for this special night. Of course Lauree said, Yes!!! Lauree says that she will never forget that day and watches the video's often to constantly remind herself how blessed she is to become Mrs. Spurgeon P. Grair III.
